• Okinawa Tropical Illuminations — Southeast Botanical Gardens, Okinawa City. Runs from late October into spring in 2025-26, with special events around 20 December to 5 January.
• Stardust Fantasia — Nago, northern Okinawa (Kanucha Bay). 1 November 2025 to 14 February 2026 (excluding 31 December).
• Itoman Winter Illuminations — Itoman, southern Okinawa. Usually mid-December to mid-January; mid-December 2025 to mid-January 2026.

Where to stay

• Chatan (American Village and Mihama): Illuminations, a beach, restaurants and shopping are all within walking distance, with buses to Naha and the north.
• Naha (Kokusai Dori and Asato): The city centre has restaurants, the Yui Rail monorail to the airport and Shuri Castle area, and works without a car.
• Nago and Motobu: Quieter north, near the Churaumi Aquarium and Kanucha Bay illuminations, but a car is needed.
