The Church of Saint Euphemia towers above Rovinj's old town on the highest point of the former island, its baroque campanile modelled on the Campanile in Venice and topped by a bronze statue of the saint that rotates with the wind. Inside, the sarcophagus of St Euphemia — a 4th-century Christian martyr from Chalcedon — is Rovinj's most sacred relic, miraculously transported here by sea according to legend.
