The Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is the largest and most impressive of the three Niagara waterfalls, a 167-foot horseshoe-shaped curtain of water 2,600 feet wide through which 90 per cent of the Niagara River's flow cascades into the Niagara Gorge below with a thunder audible for kilometres. The falls are illuminated nightly in seasonal colours and the winter ice bridge creates an additional extraordinary spectacle.
