The Old Man of Storr is Skye's most iconic and recognisable natural feature, a jagged pinnacle of ancient basalt rising 49 metres from the dramatic rocky plateau above the Trotternish Peninsula, viewed from below against the Sound of Raasay and the mainland mountains beyond. The 45-minute walk from the car park to the base of the Storr is one of Scotland's most popular and atmospheric hikes.
