The Passeig Arqueologic walkway along Girona's ancient Roman and medieval city walls offers one of the finest elevated promenades in Catalonia, with views over the terracotta rooftops to the snow-capped Pyrenees beyond. Much of the 2-kilometre circuit of walls is walkable, passing towers, gardens, and the cathedral apse at close quarters. Hotels within or near the walls combine the convenience of the old town with easy access to Girona's outstanding restaurant scene, led by the legendary El Celler de Can Roca.
