Puerto Rico has one of the longest Christmas seasons in the world. It starts right after Thanksgiving and runs through Three Kings Day on 6 January, and on to the Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián in Old San Juan in the third week of January. In San Juan, December means warm days in the high 20s Celsius, lower humidity than summer, and a lot of music, food and lights.
What's on
- San Juan: Donde Vive la Navidad — Parque Luis Muñoz Marín. The municipality opened the 2025 edition on Wednesday 26 November at 5:30 pm, with a market, carousel and live music. The 2026 dates are not yet announced.
Dates and times change from year to year, so check the organiser's listing before you travel.
Where to stay

- Condado: A beachfront strip with restaurants, shops and a walkable promenade, close to the lagoon and the bridge to Old San Juan.
- Ocean Park and Isla Verde: Beach-first neighbourhoods, quieter than Condado, with Isla Verde the closest to the airport.
