Die Besten am Wasser Hotels in Budapest

The Gresham Palace is Budapest's defining hotel — a 1906 Art Nouveau palace directly on the Danube embankment, facing the Chain Bridge and Buda Castle. Its restoration by Four Seasons is one of the great European hotel refurbishments, uncovering original Zsolnay tiles, Miksa Róth mosaics, and peacock gates that had been concealed for decades. The 179 rooms deliver the brand's flawless service with a backdrop that no new build can replicate. The Chain Bridge view at night from a riverside suite is among Europe's great hotel experiences.

Meininger delivers reliable, clean, good-value accommodation steps from the Great Market Hall and Liberty Bridge. The hybrid hostel-hotel format suits budget-conscious travellers who want private rooms without hostel prices. Common areas are social and well-designed, the neighbourhood is excellent for food exploration, and the Danube is a two-minute walk. The smartest budget base in central Pest.
